
GNPC Celebrates 40 Years of Impact at Presidential Gala
The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) officially launched its 40th anniversary celebrations at a Presidential Gala Dinner held at Jubilee House, under the theme: "From Resource to Reality: 40 Years of Impact and Innovation." The high-profile event, hosted by GNPC, brought together prominent figures from Africa's energy sector, including delegates from the 7th African Petroleum Producers' Organization (APPO) NOC CEOs Forum and Africa Oil Week (AOW).
The gala was graced by the presence of H.E. Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the Vice President of Ghana, who formally launched the year-long celebrations. In her keynote address, she lauded GNPC's pivotal role in national development, highlighting its impact on exploration and production, local capacity building, and job creation since its establishment in 1985. She congratulated the corporation on its significant milestone and expressed confidence in its future trajectory.
Mr. Kwame Ntow Amoah, GNPC's Chief Executive, reflected on the corporation's four-decade journey of resilience, partnerships, and impact. He acknowledged the contributions of past and present staff, leadership, and partners who have shaped GNPC's legacy. Mr. Amoah affirmed management's commitment to a bold future focused on sustainability, innovation, and energy transition. The event also featured the unveiling of the official 40th-anniversary logo by the Vice President, marking the commencement of a series of activities planned for the year.
The official launch sets the stage for a calendar of events aimed at celebrating GNPC's achievements and showcasing its forward-looking ambitions.
