GNPC CEO Outlines Ghana's Energy Investment Outlook to Global Business Reports

The Chief Executive of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Mr. Kwame Ntow Amoah, has highlighted the Corporation’s outlook on Ghana’s petroleum industry and emerging investment opportunities in an interview with Global Business Reports (GBR) ahead of the publication of its Africa Energy 2026 report.

In the interview, Mr. Amoah discusses GNPC’s evolving role as Ghana’s National Oil Company, opportunities across the country’s upstream petroleum sector, and the Corporation’s priorities for sustaining production and attracting new investment.

He highlights the Voltaian Basin as one of Ghana’s key frontier exploration opportunities, alongside prospects for marginal field development and infrastructure-led growth around existing petroleum facilities.

The interview also explores the importance of strengthening Ghana’s domestic gas market, improving conditions for commercially sustainable gas projects and GNPC’s continued focus on developing the technical and operational capabilities required to create greater long-term value from Ghana’s petroleum resources.

“Our focus is on building a stronger, more resilient GNPC that can continue to create value for Ghana while remaining a credible and competitive partner within the global energy industry,” Mr. Ntow Amoah said.

The interview forms part of GBR’s Africa Energy 2026 coverage, which brings together perspectives from industry leaders and institutions across Africa’s energy sector.
