GNPC Foundation Bolsters Strategic Partnership with Servicios Médicos Cubanos
The GNPC Foundation, under the leadership of Executive Director Ms. Helga JM Boadi, conducted a high-level visit to Servicios Médicos Cubanos (SMC) in Havana, Cuba. This engagement aimed to reinforce Ghana's enduring collaboration with Cuba in medical education, a cornerstone of the GNPC Foundation's human capital development initiatives.
A key achievement of the visit was the resolution of all outstanding scholarship-related financial obligations dating back to 2023. Dr. Yamila Armas, President of SMC, commended the Foundation's prompt action and its new leadership, reiterating SMC's commitment to the bilateral partnership.
This proactive measure underscores the GNPC Foundation's dedication to investing in human capital development through international scholarship programs, which are vital for strengthening Ghana's healthcare system.
Ms. Boadi's delegation included prominent figures such as Prof. Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, Director General of the Ghana Health Service, and Dr. Hafez Adam Taher, Technical Coordinator at the Ministry of Health, alongside other senior officials.
The delegation is also slated to attend the graduation ceremony of 156 Ghanaian medical students, who will formally receive their medical degrees. This event further solidifies the impact of the GNPC Foundation's scholarship programs.
