GNPC Foundation Unveils Modern Sanitation Facility at All Saints Anglican Cluster of Schools, Emphasizing Community Stewardship
The GNPC Foundation, in line with its strategic objectives to advance educational outcomes and public health, has officially commissioned a 24-unit sanitary facility at the All Saints Anglican Cluster of Schools at Esikafo-Ambantem No. 1 in the Western Region. This initiative directly addresses critical sanitation deficiencies that have historically hindered the learning environment, particularly for female students.
The newly constructed facility features a mechanized water system, significantly upgrading the school's infrastructure. This enhancement is expected to promote improved hygiene practices, reduce student absenteeism, and ensure educational continuity.
During the commissioning ceremony, Ms. Helga JM Boadi, Executive Director of the GNPC Foundation, emphasized the crucial role of robust sanitation infrastructure in fostering equitable and productive learning environments. "This facility transcends mere convenience; it is a fundamental enabler of quality education and health," stated Ms. Boadi. She further urged school leadership, students, and the broader community to assume collective ownership of the facility, ensuring its long-term preservation and sustainability.
Madam Celestina Ruth Impraim, Headteacher of Bishop O’Rorke Anglican Basic School, accepted the facility on behalf of the institution, expressing profound gratitude to the GNPC Foundation. She highlighted the facility's anticipated transformative impact on student well-being, safety, and academic concentration, especially given the school's increasing enrollment figures.
The event garnered attendance from key stakeholders, including Rev. Father Samuel D. Aikins, Assistant Minister at All Saints Protestant Church; Mr. Isaac Wethey, Chairman of the School Management Committee; Madam Ruth Addy, School Improvement Support Officer; and principals from neighboring schools. All attendees commended the GNPC Foundation for its sustained contributions to national development initiatives.
This project directly supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: Clean Water and Sanitation by guaranteeing equitable access to safe, hygienic, and gender-sensitive sanitation solutions. Furthermore, it aligns with African Union Agenda 2063, specifically Aspiration 1, through its commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and fostering inclusive, sustainable development.
