GNPC Highlights Energy Reliability as Key to Ghana's Industrial Growth at the 2026 Ghana Industrial Summit and Exhibition
The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has highlighted the importance of reliable energy supply to Ghana's industrial growth, as industry leaders and policymakers explore ways to strengthen the country's competitiveness and expand export-led production.
At the 9th Ghana Industrial Summit and Exhibition in Accra, GNPC Manager of Strategy, Mr. Peter Abrokwa, joined discussions on the role of energy and related sectors in supporting industrial development and wider economic growth. Mr Abrokwa highlighted GNPC's role in Ghana's energy value chain, including its responsibility as the national gas aggregator and its work to develop and optimise the country's petroleum resources. He noted the wider importance of these activities to energy security, economic activity, and Ghana's efforts to derive greater value from its petroleum resources.
The discussion formed part of the three-day Summit organised by the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, and the 24-Hour Economy Authority, under the theme "Driving Sustainable Export-Led Industrial Growth Through Energy Reliability and Digital Innovation.” GNPC was a major sponsor and exhibitor at the Summit, which brought together businesses, public institutions, development organisations and other stakeholders to discuss energy reliability, investment, digital innovation, and the conditions required to improve Ghana's industrial competitiveness. The Corporation also used its exhibition platform to engage participants on its operations and strategic priorities within Ghana's petroleum sector.
Among visitors to the GNPC exhibition were Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Sampson Ahi, and the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Ghana Industries.
GNPC's participation in the Summit reflects the Corporation's wider role in ensuring that the development of Ghana's petroleum resources contributes to energy security and supports the country's industrial and economic development.
