GNPC Pays Courtesy Call on National Chief Imam Ahead of Eid Festivities

The Ag. Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Mr. Kwame Ntow Amoah, has paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, ahead of the upcoming Eid celebrations.

The visit forms part of GNPC’s longstanding tradition of engaging with key national and religious leaders, reinforcing the corporation’s commitment to promoting peace, unity, and social cohesion.

During the engagement, Mr. Amoah conveyed warm Eid greetings to the Chief Imam and the Muslim community and expressed appreciation for the Imam’s continued prayers and spiritual guidance for the nation and GNPC.

“As a national institution, we recognise the importance of spiritual guidance alongside our technical mandate. Your prayers continue to inspire and strengthen our efforts to deliver long-term value for Ghana’s energy sector,” he stated.

Mr. Amoah also highlighted GNPC’s ongoing strategic priorities, including sustaining oil production, advancing exploration activities, and strengthening institutional capacity. He highlighted the importance of collective support in achieving these national objectives.

The delegation further used the opportunity to seek the Chief Imam’s continued blessings for GNPC’s management, staff, and operations.

In his remarks, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu expressed appreciation for the visit and commended GNPC for its contributions to national development. He offered prayers for the continued success of the corporation, as well as for peace and prosperity in the country. He also prayed for the successful execution of key initiatives, including the Voltaian Basin program, noting its potential to significantly contribute to Ghana’s long-term energy security and development.

The visit underscores GNPC’s commitment to fostering strong stakeholder relationships and contributing to national development beyond its core operations.

The GNPC delegation included the Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Finance, Commerce, and Administration, Mr. Hamis Ussif; Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Eric Pwadura; Director of Strategy, Mr. Mumuni Shiraz Ibn Yacin; as well as other management and staff of the corporation.
