GNPC, PETRONAS Begin Technical Engagement on Ghana’s Upstream Opportunities
The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) and PETRONAS have begun a two-week technical and commercial engagement in Accra, bringing together specialists from both institutions to examine opportunities within Ghana’s upstream petroleum sector.
Held at the GNPC Research and Technology Centre, the engagement will include technical sessions on exploration, discovered assets, subsurface and geology, engineering, new ventures, and commercial and business development.
A cross-functional GNPC team comprising geologists, geophysicists, engineers, new ventures, and commercial specialists will engage their PETRONAS counterparts over the period, sharing technical information and discussing areas of potential interest and collaboration.
Welcoming the delegation on behalf of the GNPC Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive, Finance, Commercial, and Administration, Mr. Hamis Ussif expressed the Corporation's readiness to support productive discussions throughout the engagement.
Director, Projects, Dr. Albert Longdon-Nyewan, also highlighted GNPC’s interest in working collaboratively with PETRONAS and pursuing opportunities to support investment in Ghana’s petroleum sector.
The two-week engagement gives GNPC an opportunity to showcase Ghana’s upstream potential, strengthen technical and commercial interaction with PETRONAS, and identify areas for possible future collaboration.
The engagement forms part of the Corporation’s broader efforts to build strategic relationships and attract the technical expertise and investment needed to support the development of Ghana's petroleum resources.
