GNPC Positions Ghana for Energy Investment at the 2026 Offshore Technology Conference

At the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), one of the world's premier energy gatherings, GNPC stepped forward, building partnerships, embracing technology, and affirming Ghana's place at the heart of the global energy conversation.

Houston's Offshore Technology Conference brought together the world's foremost minds in energy, and Ghana was firmly part of the conversation. Speaking at the Africa Energy Forum held on the sidelines of the OTC 2026, GNPC’s Deputy Chief Executive for Finance, Commercial & Administration, Mr. Hamis Ussif, highlighted Ghana’s strong investment potential and reaffirmed the country’s readiness to attract sustainable energy investment.

Mr. Ussif articulated GNPC's unique position, balancing its developmental mandate as a national oil company with the commercial agility demanded of a competitive joint venture partner. He noted that this dual role continues to position GNPC as a key driver of Ghana’s upstream petroleum sector and broader energy development agenda. As part of the conference activities, the GNPC delegation, led by Mr. Hamis Ussif, also joined a business breakfast hosted by the Global Energy Network on the theme “US Energy Outlook,” reaffirming GNPC's commitment to engaging international stakeholders on emerging trends shaping the global energy conversation.

The forum attracted a high-level Ghanaian delegation, which included Ghana's Ambassador to the United States, members of Parliament's Select Committee on Energy, representatives from GIPC, TOR, and NPA. This coordinated participation reflected the country's collective resolve to attract and sustain energy investment to promote long-term growth within the energy sector.

As part of its broader strategic and technical engagement in Houston, the GNPC's delegation continued its Houston programme with a series of strategic engagements. At Halliburton's Technology Show, the team explored how automation and integrated technologies are reshaping the industry across the full project lifecycle. A strategic discussion with Amni International Petroleum Development Company Limited followed, focusing on collaborative opportunities, project delivery, and operational alignment, complemented by a tour of Amni's Houston facility.

For GNPC, these engagements extend beyond industry networking. They form part of the Corporation’s broader strategy to strengthen technical capability and enhance operational efficiency and remain aligned with the evolving global industry standards, highlighting Ghana’s strong investment potential and reaffirming the country’s readiness to attract sustainable energy investment.

GNPC's participation at OTC 2026 reflects the Corporation's commitment to positioning Ghana as an attractive destination for energy investment while cultivating strategic partnerships, promoting technology and knowledge exchange, and creating lasting value for the people of Ghana.
